LUCY GUILLOTTE WALDEN

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at 2 p.m., in the Church of the Assumption for Lucy Guillotte Walden, 82, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 1:05 p.m., at Iberia Medical Center with her family at her side. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.
Ms. Lucy was a loving mother who enjoyed gardening. She was a fabulous cook who always put the needs of others before her own, making sure that everyone was well fed and that others were okay. Her passion in life was spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her six children, Danny Walden of Franklin; Wes Walden of New Iberia; Sandra Inman and her husband, Brad, of Covington; Wendy DeSoto and her husband, Larry, of Franklin; Karen Smith and her companion, Leroy Guilbeau, of Jeanerette; and Troy Walden and his wife, Wendy, of Patterson; one sister, Mary Jane Rogers of Charenton; six grandchildren, Jon Walden and his wife, Vanity, of Red Wing, Minnesota; Brandon DeSoto and his wife, Joni, of New Iberia; Howie Inman and his companion, Faron, of Covington; Scott Inman of New Orleans; Mindy Olander of New Iberia; and Rochelle Smith of Franklin; three great grandchildren, Kylie Walden, Riley Inman and Ali DeSoto; her former husband, Don Walden; one brother-in-law, Henry Hawn of Hitchcock, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anatole Guillotte and Lucille Naquin Guillotte; three sisters, Mamie G. Fields, Ruby G. Louviere and Hilda G. Hawn; and four brothers-in-law, Gene Fields, Roy Louviere, Adolph Durocher and Henry Rogers.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at the Church of the Assumption, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass, at 2 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 1:15 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be her sons, Danny, Wes and Troy Walden and grandsons, Brandon DeSoto and Howie and Scott Inman. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandson, Jon Walden and David Jolet.
