Scouts travel to Texas

Several members of Boy Scout Troop 242 attended the Hornaday Merit Badge Camp in Bastrop, Texas, to work on elements of the Hornaday Award. The William T. Hornaday awards are a series of awards presented by the Boy Scouts of America for service in conservation and ecology. The program is designed to encourage learning about natural resource conservation and the environment, teach sound stewardship of the natural resources and the environment, and recognize those who are outstanding in this field. From left, are Tom Galloway, scoutmaster; scouts Colby Alexander, Justin Chauvin and Joseph Duhon; Ryan Galloway, Hornaday Badge recipient; and Troy Duhon, assistant scoutmaster.
