Acadiana, St. Mary mourn theater victims

Mourners gathered at 1812 Main St. Friday in respect for the memory of Mayci Breaux, listening to words from local clergy, officials and family members. Breaux was a victim of a shooting in Lafayette Thursday at the Grand Theater on Johnston Street. At the end of the vigil purple balloons were released in Breaux’s honor.

Movie theater shooter's mental problems didn't stop gun buy

Satellite trucks from local and national news operations fill a corner of the Grand 16 Theater parking lot Saturday. The Thursday night shootings, which resulted in the deaths of two young women and the shooter, has drawn coverage around the world. The funerals for the two local victims will be Monday.
