Parish Council meets Wednesday
Members of the St. Mary Parish Council will meet in their second regular November meeting a week early Wednesday due to the Thanksgiving holiday next week.
Items on the agenda include:
—Introduction of ordinances setting the council clerk’s salary and amending the current fiscal year budget.
—Resolution on a certificate of substantial completion on the Plantation Inn Pump Station replacement project; and a contract with the lowest bidder on concrete roadway repairs on River Road and Carol Road. (Adm.)
—A request from the Morgan City Police Reserves for an unspecified budget allocation toward purchase of ballistic vests, traffic vests, portable radios and insurance coverage.
—A request by Councilman Lionel “Butch” Metz to transfer $5,000 in Wards 1, ,2, 3, 4, 7 and 10 three-tenths sales tax funds to Fire Protection District 11 for purchase of radio equipment.
—A request from the St. Mary Parish Chamber of Commerce for a $5,000 budget allocation.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. on the fifth floor of the courthouse in Franklin.
