Broussard-Harris honors African-Americans
Goddess Angels Praise Dance Darlings perform at Broussard-Harris Recreation Center
Members of the community packed into Broussard-Harris Recreation Center Saturday to honor African-American citizens of Franklin.
The Broussard-Harris Committee’s 10th Annual Black Appreciation Awards Banquet was presented with the theme, “Dream With a Vision, Live With a Purpose.”
Invocation was delivered by Pastor Allen R. Randle Sr. and the welcome by John Madison. Pearl Rack served as mistress of ceremonies and Cherlynn Monettte delivered an introduction to the occasion.
The committee first honored four centenarians and older: Dorothy Butler-Guienze, age 103; Edith Henry, 103; Florence Cage, 102; and Simon Daniels, 100.
The 2014 honorees were:

Entertainment was provided by the Goddess Angels Praise Dance Darlings, the Broussard-Harris Line Dancers and J.J. Hawkins and the Gospel Zydeco Band.
