PATTERSON — The Vikings and Colts both were victorious in Atchafalaya Football League action Saturday in Patterson.
The Vikings defeated the Saints, 18-0, while the Colts were victorious against the Chiefs, 27-8.
In the Vikings’ win, Barrett Hover ran for 83 yards and two scores — 56 and 18 yards.
Mitchell Frederick also ran for 48 yards, including a 17 yard touchdown. He also completed a 14-yard pass to Rustin Ratcliff.
Reid Wiley also ran for 65 yards, including a 45-yard run.
On defense, solid performances were turned in by Lucas Hatch, Adam Askew, Cade Thibodeaux, Cruz Crawford, Seth Giroir and Grayson Wells.
For the Saints, Morriquise Charles ran for 83 yards, while Logan Tingle completed two passes to Deedee Gant.
Ethan Nguyen also completed a 17-yard pass to Jean Pat Dupuy.
On defense, solid performances were turned in by Hunter Daigle, Javion Jones, Tingle, Cade Minton, Brooks Thomas, Taylor Blanchard and Dylan Lipari.
In the Colts’ win, Reginald Talver ran for 126 yards, including three touchdowns, and converted a point-after attempt, while Drexel Boutte ran for 82 yards, including a 68-yard scoring run. He also converted a point-after attempt.
Telvae Phillips also had a point-after attempt for the Colts.
On defense, solid performances were turned in by a host of players.
For the Chiefs, quarterback Collin Louviere ran for 38 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown run, and completed a pass to Philip Guarisco for 14 yards.
Cade Booty also kicked a two-point point-after attempt.
Other contributors for the Chiefs included Josh Jones, who ran for 79 yards; Trevon Francois, who had a 35-yard kickoff return; and Ronnie Hatcher, who rushed for 23 yards.
Solid defense for the Chiefs was turned in by Jaharri Diggs, Louviere, Christin Scribner, Ethan Scully and Kim Crappell.
Because of a miscommunication regarding the scheduling of Morgan City High School's Tiger Classics marching festival, which is being held Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Morgan City, games will be played away from Tiger Stadium again.
Saturday's games will be played at Berwick High School with the Saints playing the Chiefs at 9 a.m., followed by the Vikings and the Colts meeting.
