Local biddy teams compete

Flawless Design, A-1 Specialties and M C Bank won their respective divisions during the Morgan City Biddy Basketball tournament this weekend at M.D. Shannon Elementary.

Each squad finished 3-0 as Flawless Design won the 7-8 year old division, A-1 Specialties won the 9-10 age group, and M C Bank claimed the 11-12 year old division.

Flawless Design claimed victories over MCPD (25-20), Taco Bell/KFC (16-14) and Southern Scrap (24-20).

Against MCPD, Flawless’ Nylan Francis led the squad with 10 points, while Lonnie Kinchens and Carmichael Daniels added seven and six points, respectively.

For MCPD, Jackson Butler scored nine points, while Ty’Jae Vaughns added four, and Donald Lewis chipped in three.

Against, Taco Bell/KFC, Kinchens led the Flawless Design effort with eight points, while Dakota Green added four and Kayala Hawkins and Aniyah Kelly each made the stat sheet with two points.

For Taco Bell/KFC, Matthew Mire was tops with nine points, while Kolin Crappell added three, and Alex Boudreaux chipped in two.

Against Southern Scrap, Francis hit the go ahead three pointer with less than seven seconds remaining to seal the championship for Flawless Design.

Hawkins and Kinchens led the Flawless Design effort with seven points each, while Daniels added five points and Francis added three.

For Southern Scrap, Davaidyione Bias scored 16, while Josiah Swan added four.

In other 7-8 year old action, Southern Scrap defeated Taco Bell/KFC, 26-13; MCPD defeated Southern Scrap, 25-21; and MCPD defeated Taco Bell/KFC, 24-11.

In the Southern Scrap-Taco Bell/KFC matchup, Bias led Southern Scrap with 22 points, while Swan and Zachary Bennett each added two.

For Taco Bell/KFC, Brett Morrell scored seven points, and Mire added six.

In the MCPD-Southern Scrap matchup, Butler and Lewis led MCPD with 10 points apiece, while Tate Matherne added two.

For Southern Scrap, Bias again led the charge with 19 points, while Bennett added the other two.

In the Taco Bell/KFC-MCPD matchup, Morell led Taco Bell/KFC with seven points, while Mire added four.

Butler led MCPD with 12 points, while Lewis added six points, and Kyler Paul, Bryalen Kemp and Vaughns all added two points apiece.

In the 9-10 year old division, champion A-1 Specialties claimed victories against Vida Paint (46-26), Holiday Inn (38-16) and KBZE (28-15).

In the win against Vida Paint, Elijah Swan and Michael-Anthony Hill led the A-1 Specialties offense with 14 points each, while Leo Garrett added six, and Akayah Poole and Taylor Blanchard added four each.

For Vida Paint, Ethan Boagni scored 10, while Jarred Singleton added nine and Zion Landry scored four.

Against Holiday Inn, Poole, Swan and Hill all led the A-1 scorers with eight points each, while Blanchard added six, and William LaRocca chipped in three.

For Holiday Inn, Brooks Thomas led the charge with 11 points, while DesDrejan Gant and Seth Williams added two apiece, and Sydney Williams chipped in a point.

Against KBZE, Pool led the A-1 scorers with eight points, while Hill added seven, and Brandon Jones scored two.

For KBZE, Ethan Nguyen scored seven, Montreal Gould added four, and Devin Hidalgo scored two.

In other 9-10 year old action, Holiday Inn defeated KBZE, 42-19, Vida Paint eased past KBZE, 44-13; and Vida Paint defeated Holiday Inn, 34-20.

In the Holiday Inn-KBZE matchup, Bryce Grizzaffi led the charge with 12 points for Holiday Inn, while Gant, Thomas and Seth Williams each scored eight points, and Sydney Williams scored four.

For KBZE, Nguyen scored six, Collins Harry, Luke Freia and Elijah Singleton all scored four, and Gould added a point.

In the KBZE-Vida Paint matchup, Harry led Vida Paint with eight points, while Nguyen added three and Freia scored two.

For Vida, Singleton scored 27, Boagni scored seven and Sherman Naverre added five.

In the Vida Paint-Holiday Inn matchup, Singleton led Vida with 13, while Landry and Marquise Charles added six points each, and A’Kurvontay Webb scored five.

For Holiday Inn, Seth Williams scored seven points, Grizzaffi scored six, and Gant added four.

In the 11-12 year old division, M C Bank scored victories against MCRD (28-17), Skippers (33-28) and VFW (43-29).

In the win against MCRD, M C Bank’s Alisha Singleton led the way with nine points, while Ronnell Williams scored seven and Mayke Richard added six.

For MCRD, Travis Whitehead scored five, Samarick Paul and Alex Brocato added four each, and Tyrese Thomas and Logan Booty each chipped in two.

In its win against Skippers, M C Bank’s Ronjour Granger led the way with 11 points, while Richard added nine, and Singleton scored six.

For Skippers, Miguel Webb scored 10, Cody Roberie added eight and Michael Crappell and James Bennett scored two each.

In M C Bank’s win against VFW, Singleton led the way with 14 points, while Kerwick Francois added eight, and Richard chipped in seven.

For VFW, Taaj Daniels scored 14 points, while Tywuan Walker added 13, and Larenz Clark scored two.

In other 11-12 year old action, Skippers defeated VFW 34-23, VFW defeated MCRD 32-19, and MCRD defeated Skippers 32-28.

In the VFW-Skippers matchup, Webb led Skippers with 12 points, while Darius Preston and Roberie added eight points each, and Kesean Francois scored six.

For VFW, Daniels scored 12; Walker added nine, and Clark scored seven.

In the MCRD-VFW game, Whitehead led MCRD with nine points, while Thomas added five, and Booty scored three.

For VFW, Daniels scored 18, Walker added seven and Deonte Green scored five.

In the Skippers-MCRD matchup, Francois led Skippers with 10 points, Webb added eight, Roberie scored six and Crappell, and Nicholas Peterson each added two.

For MCRD, Paul scored 18, Whitehead scored seven, and Drake Angeron added six.
