A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 3 p.m., at the Church of Assumption for Mrs. Alma Blanchard Miguez, 86, a native of Pierre Part and a longtime resident of Franklin, who passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011, at 11:40 a.m., at the Franklin Health Care Center. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.

Alma was a devoted wife and mom while working side by side with her husband, Ory, in their photography business for 58 years. She especially cherished the times she was able to travel with her husband on photography assignments as far away as Mexico and Europe.

She was well known as a talented portrait oil colorist working with photographs taken by her husband and later her son, Ken. Many generations of clients proudly display beautiful hand painted portraits that she created.

Alma was a member of the Church of Assumption, Ladies Altar Society and was a member of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hardcastle and her husband, William “Dub” of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one son, Kenny Miguez and his wife, Kay, of New Iberia; one sister, Lucille Gaudet of Belle River; two grandsons, Jeff Hardcastle and his wife, Donna, of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Brent Hardcastle of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two great granddaughters, Aubrey and Sara Hardcastle; one sister-in-law, Eula Mae Black of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
