Groundbreaking was held Wednesday for a new library at Hanson Memorial High School. The new library will be a state of the art facility with the capacity for new technology. The building will hold double the capacity of the old library and is the first new building to be constructed on the Catholic school campus in 15 years. M&H Contractors of Vacherie are heading up the project that should be complete by next spring. On hand for the occasion were Father Lloyd Benoit of Church of the Assumption, Lafayette Diocese Superintendent of Catholic Schools Anna Larriviere, Architect Carl Blum, school board officials, principals and librarians from Hanson and St. John Elementary and students.
