Ledet and Parker joined in marriage
Tanika Ann Ledet and Derrick Wayne Parker exchanged vows on Saturday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m. during a double-ring ceremony at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in New Iberia. Reverend Monsignor Ronald Broussard officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ledet Jr. of New Iberia. The groom is the son of Mr. Adolph Parker Sr. and the late Susie Mae Parker.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory, taffeta, strapless gown with beading lining both the neckline and the unique ladder-design back. The fitted bodice featured ruching which asymmetrically plummeted below the waist into a chapel-length train. She also wore an ivory, fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of ivory roses with a hint of blue roses, a touch of pearls and rhinestone accents.
Candi Ledet, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Mary Linzer, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Allison Mitchell; Swandalyn Darby, cousin of the bride; Anastasia Boyd, niece of the groom; Lolita Ledet, sister of the bride; Kayla Ledet, sister of the bride and Albertina Ledet, sister of the bride.
Adolph Parker Jr. served as best man. The groomsmen were Aaron Wiggins; Kenneth Phillips; Byron Chatman; Ryan Coleman; Rodney Davis, cousin of the groom; Adam Davis, cousin of the groom and Melvin Davis Jr., cousin of the groom.
Madison Parker, daughter of the bride and groom served as the miniature bride and Desmond Parker, son of the groom, served as the miniature groom.
The flower girl was Princess Thompson, daughter of the groom, and the ring bearer was Jylon Jackson, cousin of the groom.
Kerry Davis Jr. and Leonard Matthews Jr., cousins of the groom, served as ushers.
Following a wedding reception held at Mon Ami, the couple departed for a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas.
The couple will reside in New Iberia.
