Juvenile faces drug charge after theft complaint at Walmart in Bayou Vista
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Christopher Glenn Fryar, 29, of Field Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for probation violation, a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of careless operation of a vehicle with a crash and operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and on a warrant for domestic abuse battery third offense. A deputy located Fryar in Amelia on the warrants. No bail is set.
—A juvenile male, 16, of Verdunville, was arrested at 3:03 p.m. Wednesday for theft and possession of a legend drug without a prescription. A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft at Walmart in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy located several items in a bag that the juvenile attempted to take from the store that were not paid for. The juvenile was also found to be in possession of several pills, which he did not have a prescription for. He was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—A juvenile male, 16, of Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday for unlawful possession of tobacco. While investigating a complaint at Walmart in Bayou Vista, a deputy observed a juvenile smoking near the entrance to the store. During the investigation, the juvenile was found to be in possession of several cigars. He was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
