Junior high student arrested on drug charge
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—A 13-year-old juvenile was arrested at 5:11 p.m. Monday at Morgan City Junior High School after the juvenile was found to be in possession of a suspected schedule I controlled dangerous substance-marijuana. The suspected marijuana was found after a routine classroom search. The incident was turned over to the Morgan City Police Department. The juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of schedule I CDS-marijuana, taken to the police department and released.
—During an unrelated incident, two juveniles were arrested at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Police were called to Morgan City Junior High School in regards to a fight between two juveniles. When they arrived, they were advised by school authorities that two juveniles were involved in the fight. Both juveniles were arrested and taken to the police department, booked on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting and released.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff Ronny Theriot reported the following arrest:
—Tanya Gray, 38, of Heritage Oak Drive in Morgan City, was arrested for failure to appear.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
