International opportunities at LAGCOE

LAFAYETTE, La. — The 2013 Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition, the second largest oil and gas exposition in the U.S., will be Oct. 22-24 in Lafayette. Held at the Cajundome and Convention Center, the show features more than 400 oil and gas industry exhibitors displaying their latest equipment or technologies both inside and on the grounds outside.

The expo also will provide significant opportunities for Louisiana companies to gain invaluable information and insight about doing business in a variety of foreign markets as well as to meet with qualified foreign visitors seeking to purchase U.S. products/services.

LAGCOE has teamed up with the U.S. Department of Commerce/International Trade Administration which is working through their U.S. Commercial Service offices in the U.S. embassies and consulates around the world to promote the show to foreign buyers through the International Buyer Program. As a result, U.S. Commercial Service oil/gas industry specialists from Canada, Mexico, Nigeria and Indonesia will be leading delegations of qualified business people to the event.

The commercial specialists will be on hand along with representatives from the U.S. Export-Import Bank and other federal government organizations at the show to discuss a U.S. company’s international market potential, export finance needs or other export-related issues.

In addition, a series of high level international presentations is planned which will provide pertinent information about the markets, key opportunities and best methods for doing business in Angola, Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

LAGCOE has been held biennially in Lafayette for over 56 years. With 15,000 attendees from around the U.S. and the world, LAGCOE is a resource for Louisiana business people.
