Hospital board to meet
MORGAN CITY, La. — An intergovernmental agreement between three boards to fund a joint lab where nursing students can practice their skills will be discussed when Hospital Service District 2 meets Wednesday.
Hospital Service District 2, the public board that leases Teche Regional Medical Center, the St. Mary Parish School Board, and South Central Louisiana Technical College — Young Memorial Campus, entered the agreement earlier this year to create the lab which will be used by the school system’s certified nursing assistant program and the South Central Louisiana Technical College system licensed practical nurse program.
Dual enrollment will be offered from CNA to LPN for high school students. The lab will give students the chance to practice skills in modulated labs at different levels of care as well as simulating real life scenarios in a health care setting.
Also on the hospital board’s agenda for the 5:30 p.m. meeting are renewal of the directors and officers liability policy, engagement of an auditor for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31 and receipt of a monthly operation report by the hospital.
The meeting will be held at the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce office, 727 Myrtle St., Morgan City and is open to the public.
