The Central Catholic volleyball team was in action Monday on the road at Central Lafourche. Quincee Wiggins, above during earlier season action, hits the ball against Academy of Our Lady. Central Catholic defeated Central Lafourche Monday on the road in five games, winning the second, third and fifth games.
The Lady Eagles won 3-2 (26-28, 25-18, 25-22, 15-25, 15-12).
DELCAMBRE _ Franklin’s Lady Hornets went 1-2 in three games over the weekend in the Delcambre Tournament.
Berwick High School fell to Jeanerette High School 30-21 Friday evening in Jeanerette. While Berwick led 21-14 heading into the fourth quarter, Jeanerette outscored the Panthers 16-0 in the final period for the victory. Above, Berwick’s Braden Billiot runs with the football, while teammate Brandon Naverro follows. Billiot led the Panthers with 163 yards rushing and a touchdown. Central Catholic High School fell to Vermilion Catholic 29-22 in Abbeville Friday. Despite five turnovers and virtually no run-game, the Eagles still had a chance late to win.
