The Morgan City High School Tigers have been working this spring under new head coach and athletics director Scott Tregle (in the background of the photo immediately above), who was hired in January to lead the Tigers. Above is action from Monday’s practice. Morgan City will hold a spring game next week when it scrimmages Hanson Memorial at 6 p.m. May 22 at Tiger Stadium in Morgan City.
Central Catholic third baseman Nicholas Case makes a throw to first-base during District 7-1A action against Hanson Memorial last month. Case and the rest of the Eagles look to cap their season with a Class 1A state title this weekend at the Class 1A State Tournamenti in Sulphur. The Eagles will be making their third straight semifinal appearance and will be looking to advance to the state championship game for the third straight year after finishing as state runner-up the past two seasons. The Central Catholic High School girls’ basketball team held an awards banquet Wednesday evening to celebrate their season and receive their Class 1A State Championship rings.
