Central Catholic High School swim team begins season

The Central Catholic swim team has started its 2016 season. Returning team members include senior Caroline Nini, junior Jack Autrey, sophmores David Nugent and Wade Crappell and freshman

False River takes CHS in non-district action Fri.

Centerville High School sophomore football players are shown above. Centerville (1-2) will play host to the Gueydan Bears (0-3) in District 7-1A action for Homecoming Friday at 7 p.m. The Hanson Memorial Tigers (1-2) will host the Ascension Episcopal Blue Gators (3-0) Friday in District 7-1A action at 7 p.m. at McCloskey Field. The West St. Mary Wolfpack (0-2) will play host to the Catholic High of New Iberia Panthers (3-0) in District 5-2A action at WSM Stadium Friday at 7 p.m. The Franklin Hornets (1-2) will travel to battle the Berwick Panthers (3-0) in the District 8-3A opener at Geisler Stadium.

FALSE RIVER _ False River High School outlasted the Centerville Bulldogs in an 89-45 shootout here Friday at the FRHS Stadium in non-district action.
