Eagles to open district against Highland Baptist

The Central Catholic Eagles will begin District 7-1A play this week against Highland Baptist but will play the contest without the services of its biggest offensive weapon.

Lumberjills are area's lone volleyball winner Tuesday

Patterson and Berwick high school volleyball teams were in action Tuesday when they hosted Franklin and Assumption, respectively. The Lumberjills defeated Franklin, while Berwick fell in four games to Assumption, ranked No. 1 in the latest Division II power rankings released by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association. The Patterson Lumberjills churned out 12 aces in a three-game sweep of Franklin, 25-11, 25-19, 25-16.
