Lady Hornets whip Berwick
BERWICK _ Four players scored scored in double figures, sending the Franklin Lady Hornets to a lop-sided 62-13 District 9-3A triumph over the Berwick Lady Panthers here Wednesday at the Berwick High School Gymnasium.
Franklin raced out to a 15-0 lead in the first quarter on the way to a 37-6 halftime cushion At the end of the third quarter, the Lady Hornets coasted to a 55-9 advantate. Franklin salted away the easy 62-13 victory with a 7-4 run down the stretch.
Quanta Jones and Traviaishala Boatman poured in 13 points apiece to pace the Franklin Lady Hornets scoring with Wynesha Jenkins adding 12 points and Fabian Small finishing with 10 points. Jones scored 13 points on a pair of treys, a trio of deuces and 1 of 2 from the charity stripe while Boatman canned four deuces, one trey and 2 of 4 freebies. Jenkins bagged six floor shots for her 12 while Small made good on five field goals Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Hornets were: Chardonnae Parker, 6; Kristen Jackson, 4; Sadie Payne, 2 and Jazman Henry, 2.
Franklin will play host to E. D. White tonight beginning at 6 p.m. in District 9-3A action at the FSHS Gym.
