Hanson Tigers slip past Gators, 8-7
Jacob Hebert and Brennan Young teamed up to pitch the Hanson Memorial Tigers to an 8-7 District 7A victory over the Ascension Episcopal Gators Tuesday at the Amar Lancon Field.
Hebert started on the hill, working one frame, giving up no runs with two hits with one strikeout.
Young notched the mound victory after yielding five earned runs while scattering nine hits with three strikeouts and two walks over six complete frames.
Hanson opened with one run in the bottom half of the first inning, building a 1-0 lead. Ascension Episcopal gained a 5-1 lead in the top half of the third frame before the Tigers stormed back with five runs in the bottom half of the third inning for a 6-5 advantage. Hanson extended its lead to 7-5 with a run in the fourth frame before Ascension Episcopal struck back to knot the game at 7-7 with a pair of runs in the sixth inning. Hanson strolled away with the district-opening 8-7 victory with one run in the bottom of the seventh frame.

Hanson improved to 6-9 overall and 1-0 in district action with the win.
