Hanson Memorial wins Parish Golf Tournament
PATTERSON — The Hanson Memorial High School Tigers Golf team won the St. Mary Parish Golf Tournament played Monday and Wednesday at the Atchafalaya Golf Course.
Hanson Memorial was first with a team total of 356 with Central Catholic placing second (385) and Morgan City High School third (418).
The Hanson Tigers Golf team consists of: Bret Senette; Mason Tibbs; Austin Luke; Eric Rogers; Doyle Tibbs and Marcus Kulhman.
Hanson’s Bret Senette earned the low medalist Parish Champion title with his two-day total of 81.
Chaz Galloway of Central Catholic was second with a two-day total of 83.
Brandon Burdett (Franklin High School) and Mason Tibbs (Hanson Memorial) finished in third place tie with an 88. Burdett won the tie-breaker in a playoff to earn the third place finish.
Other top two-day finishers were: Austin Luke (91); Doyle Tibbs (96) and Eric Rogers (97).
The tournament opened on Monday with Bret Senette (Hanson) holding a two-shot lead after day one as he shot a first round score of 40. Tied for second place two shots back with opening round 42’s were Brandon Burdett (Franklin), Mason Tibbs (Hanson) and Chaz Galloway (Central Catholic).
