Hanson’s Bret Senette emerges in first place
Hanson Memorial High School golfer Bret Senette emerged in first place on Tuesday as the Franklin Senior High School hosted the Acadiana Golf League Matches at the Belleview Golf Course.
A total of 15 golfers from Franklin Senior High School, Hanson Memorial High School, Berwick High School, Patterson High School and North Vermilion High School participated in Tuesday’s matches.
Senette finished in first place with a 36, followed by Brandon Burdett of Franklin in second place with a 39. North Vermilion’s Caleb Mayard was third with a 43 with Hanson Memorial’s Austin Luke fourth with a 45. Franklin’s Slade Pontiff shot a 47 on the day with Hanson’s Eric Rogers shooting a 51 while Marcus Kuhlman recorded a 53 and Doyle Tibbs shot with a 56.
THE SPANISH TRAIL GOLF COURSE in New Iberia was the site for the Acadiana Golf League Matches held on Wednesday with teams competing from Franklin High, Hanson Memorial, Catholic High of New Iberia and Teurlings Catholic of Lafayette.
The team title was won by Teurlings Catholic of Lafayette with Catholic High School of New Iberia taking second place and Hanson Memorial finishing in third place.
The individual winners included: Micah Goulas, Catholic High of New Iberia, first, 39; Brandon Burdett, Franklin High, second, 40; Chris LeBlanc, Teurlings Catholic, third, 41 and Devin Delcambre, Teurlings Catholic, fourth, 44.
Other participants in Wednesday’s action included: Slade Pontiff, Franklin, 53; Austin Luke, Hanson, 46; Bret Senette, Hanson, 50; Eric Rogers, Hanson, 50; Doyle Tibbs, Hanson, 50 and Marcus Kuhlman, Hanson, 53.
Burdett has recorded several top finishes in matches this season. Burdett has one match victory along with three second place finishes, one third place finish and one fourth place finish.
