Grand Isle man accused of criminal trespassing
AMELIA, La. -- A 52-year-old Grand Isle man was arrested Sunday after police responded to a complaint of someone trying to break into a residence on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia.
Robert Wayne Ivie of Bayside Circle in Grand Isle was arrested at 10:12 p.m. Sunday for criminal trespassing, three counts disturbing the peace intoxicated, two counts simple assault, and public intimidation.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a person attempting to break into a residence on Lake Palourde Road. Upon arrival the deputy made contact with a person outside the residence identified as Ivie. The deputy noticed the odor of alcohol on Ivie’s breath, the report stated.
During the investigation the deputy learned that Ivie banged on the residents door threatening to shoot them, the report stated.
Ivie was taken to the parish jail and held. While enroute to the jail, Ivie attempted to kick out a window of the patrol unit, the report stated.
Ivie was released on a $2,250 bail.
