The tinfoil hat crowd is in near panic mode as item after item spills forth disproving climate alarmist’s global warming nonsense. They are now churning out error-laced missives on a weekly basis in hopes of sustaining the global warming con through December when the world meets in Copenhagen to draft a replacement for the failed Kyoto treaty.
I say failed because the parts per million of carbon in the atmosphere climbed since the treaty although world temperatures actually declined and have been declining since 1998. This was supposed to be impossible according to climate alarmists who said temps would rise as CO2 did. As I have noted in previous columns, the known record for CO2 ppm is 6,000, barely a token of the 360s we see today. The world didn’t end at 6,000 and in fact, life as we know it was born into this period.
Tons of data have been poring out lately and none of it has been good for the global warming charlatans. Ice extent in the North Pole is actually at normal levels due to the discovery that scientists missed a large piece. It was about the size of California so you can see how easily someone dependent on global warming grants could have missed something so small. Temperature increases and new record temps were scuttled when it was discovered that the data had been misread – once again by someone whose economic future depends on the global warming scam. Alleged sea level rises in the Indonesia area were actually declines once the data was properly recorded.
Climate alarmists actually tore down a tree on a beach rather than face reality. The tree had been a marker of where the beach ended and the sea began since the 1950s. But when the beach moved out and down from the tree, environmentalists destroyed it rather than face the fact their idiocy had been confirmed.
Of course none are more fraudulent Chicken Littles than our friends in Congress and the Obama administration are.
You might be interested to note that Charlie Melancon, our congressman, voted against the cap and tax climate bill in Congress. But don’t thank him. He voted against every amendment to the bill that would have protected Louisiana’s jobs and economy and then was “allowed” to vote against the bill because his vote was unnecessary for passage. He is still very much a Pelosi puppet representing the Democratic Party instead of Louisiana.
One of the true environmental knee-slappers was listening to the garbage talk over the government’s hostile takeover of General Motors. They have promised to transform GM into a “green” company, making life wonderful for you and me.
And that’s the trouble with the truly ignorant – they don’t know diddly and are arrogant about it.
For the record, before the government destroyed the company, GM made 13 hybrid vehicles – more than any car company in the world. They have more cars that get in excess of 30 miles per gallon than any other company on the planet.
Their assembly plant in Spain has the largest rooftop photovoltaic array in the world. They have reduced their energy demands by 21 percent (the equivalent of 700,000 U.S. homes) and plan to be landfill free by 2010. Six of their North American assembly plants are fueled by biogas with 2008 savings of more than $5 million.
And yet some dare not call them green.
GM is a lesson in how big the lies coming out of Washington are these days. Take heed and be warned. When it comes to energy, health care, education and financial markets, your government is no longer to be trusted.
The fact of government lying to you is about the only thing left you can truly believe in.
