FSHS hosts Opelousas tonight; WSM, HMS play Friday

Week 3 of the high school football has the 2-0 West St. Mary Wolfpack and Hanson Memorial Tigers looking to notch another win while the FSHS Hornets are looking for their first win of the season tonight at J. C. Dry Stadium.

TONIGHT, the Franklin Senior High School Hornets will play host to the Opelousas Tigers at 7 at J. C. Dry Stadium.

On Friday, the 2-0 West St. Mary Wolfpack will entertain the 0-2 Ellender Patriots at Wolfpack Stadium at 7 while the 2-0 Hanson Memorial Tigers will journey to take on 0-2 Pine Prairie at 7 p.m.

OPELOUSAS AT FSHS

In a rare Thursday night meeting, the District 9-3A Franklin Hornets will play host to the Opelousas Tigers of District 4-4A at 7 p.m. at J. C. Dry Stadium.

Franklin is looking to build momentum in renewing an old rivalry from the days of District 5-4A back in the 1990s.

Franklin is hoping to earn its first win of the season tonight after dropping consecutive games to West St. Mary and St. Martinville.

Opelousas enters tonight’s game with a 1-1 overall record after last week’s 22-14 win over Bolton.

The Franklin Hornets will host Opelousas Tigers tonight at 7 at J. C. Dry Stadium.

ELLENDER AT WSM

West St. Mary hopes to continue its winning ways on Friday when the Ellender Patriots make the trip to Baldwin for a 7 p.m. contest.

West St. Mary, fresh off a 31-13 drubbing of the Northwest Raiders, will play host to the 0-2 Ellender Patriots out of District 8-4A.

The District 6-2A competitor West St. Mary is currently 2-0 on the season after posting wins over Franklin and Northwest.

West St. Mary hosts Ellender Friday at 7 p.m. at Wolfpack Stadium.

HMS AT PINE PRAIRIE

For the second week in a row, the District 8-A Hanson Memorial Tigers will be looking to mount a road win with this week’s opponent being Pine Prairie from District 8-2A.

Hanson Memorial (2-0) collected its first road win last week in grand style by a 34-0 rout over Catholic High School of Point Coupee.

On Friday, the 2-0 Tigers will take on 0-2 Pine Prairie on the road at 7 p.m.

HMS will journey to battle Pine Prairie on Friday at 7 p.m. in Week 3 of the high school football season.
