Lee Delaune, executive director of the Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival, died Saturday, according to a news release from Nathalie Weber, president of the festival. Weber’s news release emailed Saturday afternoon follows.

With the alligator hunting season edging toward a close, most hunters have filled their tags for the season, and wildlife officials report no citations in this region. Sidney “Peanut” Michel, of Morgan City, said he is finishing up with the last of his nearly 300 tags.

Morgan City police help fundraiser

Capt. James Blair of the Morgan City Police Department was sitting suspended over water while Sgt. John Schaff took aim for the dunking target on Friday. A dunking machine was set up at East Gate BBQ restaurant in Morgan City for Dunk the Police fundraiser. All proceeds raised are to be donated to the Louisiana Chapter for Multiple Sclerosis.
