Drainage district officials have come up with a permanent solution to fix problems in Morgan City’s Lakeside Subdivision, but the board chairman says the district isn’t authorized to do the work required.
Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reported the following arrests: Kevin Daigle II, 29, of Arnaudville, was arrested Wednesday and charged with theft and released on a summons.
Former St. Mary Parish Sheriff David Naquin was on hand at the weekly meeting of the Franklin Rotary Club Tuesday to deliver an informative presentation as well as a message for the audience…if criminals leave behind fingerprints, law enforcement has a distinct advantage in identifying them and bringing them to justice.

ATV reported stolen in the Patterson area

Pictured is the 2008 Polaris Razor ATV that was stolen between March 1 and March 5 from the Patterson area. Authorities are seeking the public’s help to locate an ATV stolen from the Patterson area, according to a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.

Scouts seek help with hut move

Boy Scout Troop 41 must move its Scout Hut from Morey Park to nearby property and is asking for donations to help finance the move.

Boy Scout Troop 41 has enjoyed a long history of serving the youth of St. Mary Parish since 1942.
The troop has occupied and utilized Morey Park in Patterson since that time.
