A group of community members hopes to bring a day care facility for senior citizens to Morgan City before the end of 2018.


In January, St. Mary Parish students in various related programs converge on Franklin High School to demonstrate their learning and their achievements. Last weekend's event was the latest in a long tradition of that showcase.

An episode of “NCIS: New Orleans,” that was partly filmed in Morgan City will air at 9 p.m. Tuesday on CBS. An episode of "NCIS: New Orleans," which was partly filmed in Morgan City, will air at 9 p.m. Tuesday on CBS. The show filmed several scenes of an episode at the International Petroleum Museum & Exposition, also known as the Mr. Charlie rig museum, in November.



Super Slam Saturday will be held Jan. 28 at Morgan City Junior High School. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with bell time at 7 p.m. Concessions and a portion of ticket sales will be donated to Morgan City Junior High School athletics. Tickets are still available, starting at $10. Friday, he will compete in the inaugural National Wrestling Alliance Big Apple in Hackensack, New Jersey. Mary Ann Deslatte, 70, a native of Franklin and resident of Morgan City, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at her residence.
