The 80th Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival king and queen are John Armato of Patterson and Anna Washburn of Berwick. John Armato and Anna Washburn were crowned the 80th Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival King and Queen on Saturday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. The crowning took place during the festival’s annual coronation court.
Upon receiving the National Coach of the Year award, Coach Kenneth Lockett turned his shining moment into a special honor for everyone who has ever touched his life in some special way.

Wanted and dangerous

Kentrell A’Johnica Gabriel, 17, is wanted for attempted second degree murder, armed robbery, armed robbery with a firearm, and aggravated criminal damage to property. On May 23 officers from the Franklin Police Department responded to a residence on Ibert Street regarding shots fired at the owner and his residence. The victim’s vehicle window was broken and DNA evidence was located and reportedly matched with the suspect, Kentrell Gabriel. His last known address was 1122 La. 83, Franklin, and he is 6-foot 2-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous and is frequently in the area of Baldwin, Jeanerette and Patterson.
