Justin Edward Patterson may have mistaken Mikki Jay Dauntain, the man he allegedly shot to death in 2013 in Morgan City, for another person he believed was one of the people who robbed him six weeks earlier in the city of Patterson.

(Updated) Sheriff: One injured, area evacuated after chlorine leak at Verdunville plant

Acadian Ambulance transported a Verdunville water plant employee to a hospital after the employee was directly exposed to chlorine. The area was evacuated temporarily while authorities worked to contain a chlorine leak. As of 12:43 p.m. Monday, residents had been allowed to go back to their homes. Berwick's boys clawed out a home court win, 53-42, win against the 6-2A Catholic High of New Iberia Panthers. Individual statistics for BHS wasn't available at press time. Both the Panthers and the Lady Panthers will play Friday at Christian Life Academy
