A 31-year-old Plaquemine man was indicted Monday in 16th Judicial District Court for second degree battery stemming from an Aug. 31 incident at Lake End Park in Morgan City, according to Assistant District Attorney Anthony Saleme.

The Central Catholic Lady Eagles fell to Vandebilt Catholic Monday in Houma. No score was available from the contest, which pitted the Lady Eagles, a Division V semifinalist a year ago, against Vandebilt Catholic, the Division II runner-up. No individual stats were available.
A decision to rezone a 50-acre parcel of land in Garden City from high density residential to agricultural will have to wait another month.

NICHOLLS HONORS STUDENTS WITH HALL OF FAME AWARDS
 

THIBODAUX —The Nicholls State University Alumni Federation held its Alumni Awards for Excellence Wednesday, March 26, on the Nicholls campus. The awards ceremony is held each year to honor alumni and students who have contributed to the university and greater community. The 2014 Nicholls State University Hall of Fame awards were also announced at the event, which recognize students with both scholastic and service-oriented excellence.
