Tywuan Walker’s last-second bucket off a turnover helped Morgan City stave off an upset from South Terrebonne in District 7-4A action Friday.

A fire Saturday night at a two-story house in Amelia displaced two families. No injuries were reported.

Two families, including at least five children, lost their two-story home to a fire Saturday night. Amelia Fire Chief Carl McAllister said his department received a report of the fire at 9:40 p.m. Saturday. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the home on Cynthia Street was fully involved.
