Franklin Golden Age Club meeting
The monthly meeting of the Franklin Golden Age Club was held September 20 at the Franklin Recreation Center with 26 members present. Floyd LeBlanc opened the meeting in absence of Club President Joyce Champagne. Minister Colbert said the opening prayer. Floyd LeBlanc said a prayer in memory of 9-11 victims and their families. The minutes from the August meeting were dispensed and Treasurer Floyd LeBlanc gave the treasury report.
The annual memorial service for recently deceased members of the club was postponed until the November 15 regular meeting.
It was announced the Crowley Golden Age Club Coronation Ball would be held Wednesday, October 19 at the Rice Festival Building in Crowley. Anyone needing more information may contact Club President Joyce Champagne.
Nominations for officers for the upcoming year will be held at the November meeting with election taking place at the December meeting.
Celebrating birthdays in September are Gloria Boudreaux, Audrey Charpentier, Jeanette Clement, Sadie Concienne, Linda Darce and Bob Satathite.
The fall cake bingo fundraiser will be held Tuesday, October 18 at 6 p.m. at the City Park Recreation Center. Members are reminded to bring a cake for the bingo. No meal will be served. Bingo cards are $2 each or three for $5. The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be sold.
