Franklin City Council meets tonight
Franklin City Council members meet tonight in regular session for January.
Police Chief Sabria McGuire is slated to give a report on vandalism at city parks. Council members Lester Levine and Eugene Foulcard requested the report.
Ordinances up for adoption include new council districts for the city, and authorizing speed limit changes.
There is a resolution to authorize use of Caffery Park for youth baseball and softball programs, and to engage Miller Engineers & Associates for the first phase of renovations to City Hall.
A proclamation is slated declaring Feb. 12, Mardi Gras Day, a holiday and lifting the open container law for one hour before to one hour after the annual parade, with no glass containers allowed.
The council meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall on Iberia Street.
