Franklin Art Walk is Saturday, downtown Main Street
The Third Annual Franklin Art Walk begins Saturday at 6 p.m. on Main Street.
There are more than 20 artists featured this year in the following mediums: handmade accessories, recycled art, drawing, mixed media, oil painting, photography, sculpture, photography, silk flower arrangements, acrylic, watercolor and fiber arts.
Art can be found at these venues on downtown Main Street: Chez Hope, the Lamp Post, Merle Norman, Floors Etc., Meyer’s Shoe Store, the Fad Newsstand and Main St. Café. Art also can be seen on Willow Street at Todd Art Gallery and Argus Spa. Art venues on East Main Street include the David Stiel Agency, Scelfo’s Insurance and Company 55.
There are some returning artists and some new entries. Some artists will have pieces for sale, and others will just display their work. Each artist’s work is unique and demonstrates the creativity that is right here in our area.
Be sure to look for the gold fleur-de-lis with the purple accent. These will be placed at or near the art venues.
Techeland Arts Council will host Une Assemblée de Connaisseurs d’Art (A Gathering of Art Connoisseurs) from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lamp Post, located at the corner of Jackson and Main streets. Techeland Arts Council will share its purpose, people, pictures and pieces of its production No Hitchin’.
