Female ‘Odd Couple’ at the Teche
Teche Theatre Players will perform Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple (Female Version)” next month.
Directed by Ricky Pellerin, the play will star Debbie Box as Florence Unger and Denise Galatas as Olive Madison. Also starring are Denise Hodge, Alaina Pierce, Anna Braud, Laura Pierce, Tony Scelfo and Phillip Boudreaux.
In Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic, gone is Oscar and Felix and in steps Olive and Florence. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.
Originally produced in 1985, the play was reviewed favorably by the New York Post and USA Today. Teche Theatre Players present “The Odd Couple (Female Version)” with the permission of Samuel French.
Admission is $10 for general seating tickets. Advance tickets go on sale today at Fad News Stand, 613 Main St. in Franklin. Performance dates and times are Oct. 5, 7, 10, 11, 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m.
