Esther Boudreaux Guarisco
June 8, 1917 — July 17, 2011
Esther Boudreaux Guarisco, 94, a native of Bayou Black and a resident of Morgan City, began her new life on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Esther was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed cooking, caring for children, and loved to pass a good time dancing and listening to music. She was a very active member in the Ladies Altar Society at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Good Samaritans, Golden Age Club, and AARP.
Esther is survived by her four daughters, Jo Ann Wynn of Morgan City, Linda Gilley and husband Rex of Mangham, Gail Dupuis and husband Vincent of Morgan City, and Pat Cavett and husband Marvin of Morgan City; one sister, Evelyn Morrison of Morgan City; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Leon John Guarisco; her parents, Edmond and Lydia Boudreaux; six brothers, E.J., Eber, Milton, Merlin, Alvin, and Roy Boudreaux; and three sisters, Rita Boudreaux, Hazel Stansbury, and Hilda Wiggins.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, beginning at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. and Esther will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
