Early voting for Nov. 6 election begins

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Early voting is starting in Louisiana for the Nov. 6 election, which includes the presidential race, six congressional races, constitutional amendments, judgeships and local contests around the state.

Voters seeking to cast their ballots in advance of Election Day can vote early starting today and running through Oct. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. — except on Sunday — at their parish registrar of voters’ office or other designated locations.

The Secretary of State’s Office lists early voting sites on its website at www.GeauxVote.com under the “Early Voting-In Person” tab.

Secretary of State Tom Schedler says he anticipates high voter turnout for the election and is encouraging people to vote early to avoid long lines.
