Drug arrests made after residence searched
BAYOU VISTA, La. — Three men were arrested Monday in Bayou Vista on multiple drug charges after St. Mary Parish sheriff’s detectives conducted a search warrant at a Delmar Road residence finding various drug paraphernalia and two children inside the residence, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert.
—Christian Marcel, 33, of Delmar Avenue in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 6:22 p.m. Monday for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, distribution of methamphetamine, possession of schedule II (Roxicodone), possession of schedule IV (Ambien), possession of schedule IV (Klonopin), possession of a legend drug (Fioricet), possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, violation of controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Paul Guidry III, 36, of Lincoln Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:22 p.m. Monday for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant from the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on the charge of non-support.
—Cody Grandin, 36, of Coon Road in Bachelor, was arrested at 6:22 p.m. Monday for possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule III (Subutex), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives conducted a search warrant at Marcel’s residence in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, detectives located methamphetamine, Klonopin pills, Ambien pills, Roxicodone pills, Fioricet pills and items of drug paraphernalia, Hebert stated. The methamphetamine had an estimated street value of about $1,400, according to Hebert. Guidry and Grandin were at the residence at the time of the investigation. Detectives also located the two children inside the home and were released to a family member, Hebert stated. All three suspects were taken to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set for Marcel and Grandin. Guidry’s bail is set at $3,550.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Jevon R. Smith, 35, of Francis Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:41 p.m. Monday on a warrant for second degree battery. Smith turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City. The warrant stems from an investigation into a battery that occurred at Central Park in Bayou Vista on May 14. Using video surveillance footage, the deputy identified Smith as the suspect who punched a 25-year-old man in the face, Hebert stated. Smith was taken to the parish jail and held. He was released on $7,500 bail.
—Deidra P. Nerve, 33, of High Meadows Boulevard in Lafayette, was arrested at 4:56 a.m. Monday for driving while intoxicated and careless operation of a motor vehicle. A deputy traveling through the Ricohoc area observed a vehicle parked in the median near the intersection of La. 182 and U.S. 90. The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Nerve. Nerve refused medical attention, according to Hebert. During the investigation, the deputy observed the odor of alcohol, Hebert stated. Nerve later registered .171 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration. She was taken to the parish jail and held. Bail is set at $2,750.
