Davidson-Michel vows said at Rip Van Winkle Gardens
Jamie Davidson and Kerry Michel were married during a 5:30 p.m. ceremony Sept. 29 at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia. The Rev. Daniel Latour officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Donald and Karen Davidson of Morgan City. Kenny and Cindy Michel of Morgan City are parents of the groom.
The outdoor ceremony was held under majestic oaks with rose petal accents and a lake in the background.
Music was by pianist Eric Davidson, nephew of the bride.
Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer A-line gown fashioned with a strapless, sweetheart bodice. Embellishments included heirloom appliques, tiered layers of silk organza and Alencon lace on the skirt. Finishing the gown was a rose-colored satin sash adorned with beads.
Her bouquet was of fresh dahlias, astilbe and ranunculus in shades of pink and ivory.
Michelle Hensgens was maid of honor and Katherine Davidson was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Allison Graff, Lindsey Whitehurst, Rachel Clement, Mallory Fuhrer and Jessica Wilkinson.
They were attired in navy blue dresses of silk chiffon. Their bouquets complemented the bride’s bouquet and were accented with blue thistle.
Jonathan Courtney was best man. Groomsmen were Terry Davidson, Matthew Michel, Matthew Hungerford, Christopher Cothron, Neal Mayon and Dean Duplantis.
Ushers were Brian Melancon and Joshua Courtney.
A reception immediately followed at the Bayless Center at Rip Van Winkle Gardens.
The wedding cake was a three-tiered confection iced in ivory and filled with pistachio, cheesecake and pecan flavorings. Fresh dahlias adorned the sides and top of the cake.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Café JoJo’s in Morgan City.
The bride is a graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a veterinarian. The groom is a graduate of LSU. He is a project manager with Reagan Power and Compression.
They reside in Broussard.
