Bourg man killed in early morning crash
A Bourg man was killed shortly before 3 a.m. today when his vehicle traveled off the road in Terrebonne Parish.
State Police Troop C spokesman Evan Harrell said Ronnie Ard’s 2010 Toyota Tundra was traveling north on La. 24, just south of U.S. 90 in Gray.
The Tundra traveled off the right side of the road and entered a ditch where it struck a driveway. When the truck struck the driveway it rotated until it struck a guy wire for a telephone poll, Harrell said. Ard, 45, was wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead on the scene by a Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office official.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending, Harrell said. The crash remains under investigation.
