Berwick woman jailed for using ‘stun gun’

A 38-year-old Berwick woman was jailed Monday after being accused of having used a stun gun on another person at a Morgan City residence, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Janet C. Rock, 38, of Jeddo Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7:47 p.m. Monday for aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.
An officer was flagged down and summoned to a residence on Second Street in Morgan City regarding a disturbance. A witness told Rock had committed a battery on another person using a hand held stun gun type device, Banks said. Officers located Rock at her residence in Berwick. She admitted using a stun gun device in the incident, Banks said. She was jailed.
Banks reported the following arrests:
—Jesse Hart, 21, of Blum Boulevard in Berwick, was arrested at 8:19 a.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to comply with terms of drug court and resisting an officer.
Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person in the parking lot near Teche Regional Medical Center. Hart was loitering in and around the parked vehicles there, Banks said. Officers located Hart, and he turned and fled on foot from the officers, the chief said. The officers pursued Hart and eventually used a Taser to apprehend him, Banks said. Hart was jailed.
—Jonathon C. Murray, 29, of Southeast Boulevard in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Monday on a warrant for a probation violation and a warrant for failure to pay a fine for reckless operation with an accident.
Murray was located at the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, where he was transported to the Morgan City Police Department.
—Eliza P. Williams, 24, of Louisiana Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:14 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to comply with drug court.
Williams was located at an Adams Street residence and jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Caleb Gros, 17, of Sun Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Monday on an Assumption Parish warrant for felony simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. Gros was already incarcerated and was booked on the charge. Gros was awaiting transfer to Assumption Parish.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 34 complaints in the parish and reported no arrests in east St. Mary Parish.
