A 50-year-old Patterson man has been charged with aggravated incest after being accused of molesting a 7-year-old girl, Patterson Police Detective Larry Jones said.
—Allen William, 50, of the 600 block of Red Cypress Road in Patterson, was arrested at 7:20 p.m. Thursday for aggravated incest. The arrest stems from a complaint the department received from the mother of a 7-year-old girl who said William had molested her daughter, Jones said. William is still in jail.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Carleun C. Chapman, 37, of Louisiana Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:03 a.m. today for driving on right side of road and possession of Schedule II cocaine fourth offense.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling on La. 182 in the passing lane, obstructing passing traffic, not driving on the right hand side of the road as required. The officer stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver and identified Chapman and a male passenger.
As the officer approached the vehicle, he observed evidence which indicated that the vehicle may contain illegal narcotics. During the investigation, the driver, Chapman, denied a search of his vehicle and told the officer to “call the dog,” Banks said.
The Morgan City Police Department canine was summoned to the scene and performed a sweep of the exterior of the vehicle, giving a positive response for the presence of the odor of illegal narcotics. The officers searched the vehicle pursuant to the canine response and were able to recover a substance which tested positive for crack cocaine, Banks said. Chapman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Michelle P. Brown, 42, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:55 a.m. Thursday for improper telephone communications by misusing of the 911 Emergency System.
Officers were dispatched to a Fifth Street residence regarding a telephone call made to 911 emergency services. The caller advised that she wanted to check on the status of an incarcerated person. Officers arrived and located the complainant, Brown.
According to reports, Brown had made several calls through 911 Emergency during the last several days regarding various non-emergency complaints. Officers had previously warned Brown about the misuse of the 911 Emergency System, however she continued to contact 911. Brown was jailed on $500 bail.
—Kevin J. Drexler, 31, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 6 p.m. Thursday for a probation violation. He was jailed.
—Donnie Smith, 45, of Maine Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. Thursday for criminal trespass.
Officers were flagged down in the area of the 500 block of Fifth Street regarding a disturbance. The complainant advised that Smith was fleeing from the area.
Officers observed a man running from the area. The officer pursued and detained Smith for investigation. According to the complainant, Smith was confronted by the homeowner of the residence after he was found in the rear yard of the residence, Banks said. The homeowner made attempts to detain Smith, but Smith broke free and fled, the chief said. Smith was jailed and released on cash bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Kaleb Gros, 17, of the 100 block of Sun Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:35 p.m. Thursday on four warrants for burglary.
—Callen Slay Richard, 17, of the 1900 block of Saturn Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:38 p.m. Thursday on four warrants for burglary. Both Gros and Richard were jailed with no bail set yet.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff Ronnie Theriot reported the following arrest:
—Trey Reutrop, 24, of the 300 block of La. 663 in Morgan City, was charged on a contempt of court warrant.
