A 30-year-old Ricohoc woman and a 49-year-old Ricohoc man were arrested Friday after narcotics detectives found 10 marijuana plants and a rifle inside their residence, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Aimee Monnin, 30, of the 100 block of Bucks Lane in Ricohoc, was charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
—James R. Jones, 49, of the 100 block of Bucks Lane in Ricohoc, was charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule III (Anexsia) and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. Both were jailed with no bail set.
At about 3:30 p.m. Friday, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives conducted a joint operation with the Louisiana State Police Narcotics Division Houma Office and the Morgan City Police Narcotics Division. During the investigation into suspected illegal drug activity, detectives obtained a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Bucks Lane in Ricohoc, Hebert said.
Monnin and Jones were suspected of cultivating marijuana. During the execution of the search warrant, detectives discovered an elaborate cultivation operation, Hebert said. Detectives located 10 marijuana plants inside the residence along with a rifle and items of drug paraphernalia, the sheriff said.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 101 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Matthew C. Adams, 19, of the 2600 block of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 9:04 a.m. Friday on a warrant for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. The warrant stems from an investigation into a complaint received Feb. 10. A detective discovered that Adams had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female juvenile at a residence in Amelia, Hebert said. Adams was located at his residence on Lake Palourde Road on the warrant. He was released on $2,500 bail.
—Dex Clements, 27, of the 2000 block of River Road in Berwick, was arrested at 4:39 p.m. Sunday on three warrants for violation of a protective order, possession of a Schedule II drug, and failure to appear on the charges of domestic abuse battery and violation of a protective order. A deputy was contacted by Morgan City police who detained Clements on the warrants for St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Clements was jailed with no bail set.
—Dillon Howard, 20, of the 3700 block of Fifth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 12:13 a.m. Friday for driving with no tail lights and driving while intoxicated. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area saw a vehicle with no lights on travel to the right of the roadway nearly striking a driveway on Arlington Street. The deputy initiated a traffic stop. While following the vehicle, the deputy also observed the driver swerving towards the curb of the street and crossing the centerline. The deputy made contact with the driver, Howard, and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Howard performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered .131 grams-percent on the Intoxilyzor 5000 breath test. Howard was jailed and released on $1,750 bail.
—Andrea Baldridge, 28, of the 3000 block of Keith Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:04 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of criminal trespass and domestic abuse battery. Baldridge turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. She was released on recognizance bail.
—Brian Delaune Jr., 28, of the 3900 block of Mount Street in Berwick, was arrested at 4:10 p.m. Saturday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store security that Delaune was seen using bar codes from cheaper items to purchase more expensive goods. The deputy located Delaune at his residence. He was jailed and released on $1,000 bail.
—Jason Alfred, 36, of the 400 block of Vining Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:03 p.m. Sunday for simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Vining Lane. The deputy determined that Alfred and a female subject were involved in an argument when Alfred struck the female victim in the back of the head with his fist. The female was transported to a hospital where she was treated and released, Hebert said. Alfred was jailed and released on $500 bail.
—Leroy J. Bailey, 28, of the 200 block of Belanger Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:57 p.m. Sunday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. While en route, the deputy received information that a subject who may be involved in the crime was running across the parking lot. Bailey was detained and identified by store personnel as the subject who opened a package in the store and attempted to conceal an item on his person. Bailey was released on a summons to appear in court May 22.
—Miranda Topham, 32, of the 1300 block of Saturn Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 6:01 p.m. Sunday for simple battery and disturbing the peace. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Saturn Road. The deputy determined that Topham and a male were involved in an argument when Topham threw a cup at the man striking him in the face, Hebert said. Topham was jailed and released on $750 bail.
—Kristy Walker, 32, of the 200 block of Muriel Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:41 a.m. Friday for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Walker was released on a summons to appear in court May 22.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Jason J. Blanchard, 36, of Patterson, was arrested at 12:44 a.m. Saturday for unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling, simple battery, on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of remaining after being forbidden and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated.
Officers were dispatched to a Railroad Avenue residence in regards to a subject forcing his way into a residence. Officers learned that Blanchard, an ex-boyfriend of the complainant, had forced his way into the residence, shoving the complainant and made attempts to sleep inside the residence. Officers located Blanchard and discovered that he also was wanted on outstanding warrants. He was jailed.
—Michael P. Granger, 61, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:37 p.m. Friday on warrants for failure to pay fine on the charge of improper lane usage and no insurance. Officers were dispatched to a Union Street lounge in regards to a disturbance. Granger was located and jailed.
—Davonte J. Williams, 21, of Morgan City, was arrested at 9 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to pay a probation fee and failure to pay a fine.
Davonte Williams was transported from Patterson Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department and jailed.
—Joseph H. Pollard, 51, of Morgan City, was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for open container. Pollard was transported from Allen Correctional Center in Kinder to the Morgan City Police Department and jailed.
—Mark A. Eugene, 49, of Morgan City, was arrested at 1:51 a.m. Saturday for criminal trespassing, resisting an officer and disturbing the peace.
Officers were dispatched to an Apple Street residence in regard to the above subject causing a disturbance. When officers arrived, Eugene, who had been previously banned from the housing areas located on Apple Street fled from officers. He was jailed.
—Kentrell F. Diggs, 21, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:01 a.m. Saturday on warrants for a probation violation, three counts of failure to appear for possession of stolen things and contempt of court.
