St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 30 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Dexter M. Walker, 23, of the 600 block of Kelli Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to notify law enforcement of a change of address as a sex offender. Walker turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Walker was jailed and released on $7,000 bail.
—Clarence Grimm Sr., 56, of the 1200 block of Webber Street in Franklin, was arrested at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday on warrants for failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator and failure to obtain special identification card as a sex offender. Grimm turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Grimm was jailed with no bail set.
—Corey A. Mire, 25, of the 600 block of Charlie Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:34 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at the address listed above. The deputy made contact with Mire who was wanted on the active warrant. Mire was jailed with bail set at $5,000.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Jessie W. Martinez, 37, of Maple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:56 p.m. Tuesday for driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, procedure on approach of an emergency vehicle, open container of an alcoholic beverage in a moving vehicle.
An officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on Victor II Boulevard in Morgan City. The officer made attempts to stop the vehicle using audible and visual signals but the driver refused to yield and stop to the emergency vehicle. The driver was eventually stopped and detained. The driver, Martinez, exhibited signs of intoxication and impairment, Banks said. There were several open containers of alcoholic beverage in his vehicle. He was given a field sobriety test in which he initially did poorly on but refused to continue the test, Banks said. Martinez registered a blood alcohol concentration of .186 grams-percent on the Intoxilyzer 5000 test. He was jailed.
—Eduardo S. Machado, 37, of Spruce Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4 p.m. Tuesday for appearing intoxicated in public.
Machado was located at a Spruce Street apartment complex after officers received a complaint regarding an intoxicated person. Officers located Machado in an intoxicated condition at that location. He was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Glen Guidry, 33, of the 700 block of Carline Street in Berwick, was arrested at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday for disturbing the peace, open container, on a warrant from the 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear and on a warrant from Morgan City police for theft. Guidry was jailed awaiting bail to be set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following correction to an arrest:
—Jade May, 21, of the 400 block of Park Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:58 p.m. Saturday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, suspended driver’s license, general speed law violation and a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. Bail is set at $3,584.50.
