St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Blake M. Dinger, 20, of the 100 block of Burchfield Lane in Berwick, was arrested at 7:06 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for simple battery. A deputy located Dinger at a residence on Neptune Street in Bayou Vista on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a fight at a bar in Bayou Vista during which Dinger kicked a man who had fallen to the ground. Dinger was jailed. He was released on $500 bail.
—Meagon Antoine, 21, of the 1000 block of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:02 p.m. Friday for theft. A deputy investigating a complaint of theft by an employee at a store in Bayou Vista observed video evidence of Antoine taking money from a cash register on several occasions, Hebert said. Antoine was jailed. No bail is set.
—Chase M. Sanders, 22, of the 400 block of Lagonda Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:23 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for simple assault. A deputy located Sanders at his residence on the warrant. The warrant stems from the same investigation listed in the previous arrest. Sanders attempted to punch a male. Sanders was jailed and released on $250 bail.
—Mark Smith, 49, of the 1400 block of Myrtle Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:43 p.m. Saturday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Smith fled the store with a mobile phone. The deputy located Smith at a residence on Murphy Street in Patterson. Smith was jailed. Bail is set at $1,000.
—A juvenile male, 16, of Patterson, was arrested at 1:29 p.m. Friday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The juvenile was seen placing a PlayStation3 game in his pocket. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Ryan Billiot, 33, of the 200 block of G. Street in Dickenson, N.D., was arrested at 12:44 a.m. Sunday on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of criminal neglect of family. A deputy located Billiot at a hotel in Berwick on the warrants. Billiot was jailed with bail set at $34,397.11.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Jose A. Rabelo, 59, of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:12 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for disturbing the peace with loud music.
Officers were summoned to a Freret Street residence in regard to loud music and found Rabelo. He was jailed.
—Thomas D. Barefoot, 47, of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:35 p.m. Thursday and charged with appearing in public intoxicated and possession of marijuana (fourth offense). Officers discovered Barefoot when they responded to a complaint of a suspicious person at the intersection of Federal and Brashear avenues. Barefoot was found to be in an impaired condition and, upon seeing officers, dropped a paper towel to the ground which contained two small plastic bags of suspected marijuana, the report said. He was brought to the Morgan City Police Department where he was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
