Man jailed on theft warrant from December 2010

A 32-year-old Baton Rouge man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant related to a December 2010 theft of $3,800 from a Bayou Vista business, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Robert A. Medlin, 32, of the 200 block of Richland Avenue in Baton Rouge, was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for felony theft more than $1,500. The warrant stems from an investigation that began in March 2011 into a complaint of a theft from a business in Bayou Vista that occurred in December 2010. A detective identified Medlin as the person who obtained an item valued at $3,800 through a fraudulent credit card transaction. Medlin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville from the East Baton Rouge Parish prison on the warrant. No bail is set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 41 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests:
—Joshua Pojar, 32, of the 1600 block of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:37 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods.
—Cory Leblanc, 32, of the 100 block of Lagonda Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:37 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods.
A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store. The deputy received information that two people suspected of stealing from the store had left in a vehicle. The deputy located the vehicle and the two subjects on Southeast Boulevard and transported them back to the store for further investigation. Pojar and Leblanc, were identified by store personnel as the people who took shoes from the store without paying for the items. The deputy released both subjects on a summons to appear in court Sept. 3.
—April L. Aucoin, 34, of the 400 block of Park Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:37 p.m. Tuesday for remaining where forbidden. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance on Cremo Lane in Patterson. While speaking with the complainant and other witnesses, the deputy learned that Aucoin was at the residence after being told she was no longer allowed on the property. Aucoin was jailed with bail set at $500.
—Amber Taylor, 24, of the 400 block of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:48 a.m. today for theft of goods. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area was dispatched to a store in reference to a complaint of shoplifting. The deputy learned from store personnel that Taylor was seen concealing items in her purse before attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. The deputy released Taylor on a summons to appear on court Sept. 3.
—William Doucet, 47, of the 400 block of Clark Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 10:03 p.m. Tuesday for possession of Schedule II methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on La. 182 in Berwick. Detectives made contact with a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Doucet. Detectives located a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine and a small amount of the illegal substance in Doucet’s possession, Hebert said. Doucet was jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Ricky L. Brown, 60, of Grizzaffi Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday for appearing intoxicated in public, resisting an officer with force and on a warrant for failure to appear for disturbing the peace.
Officers were dispatched to the U.S. 90 bridge in regard to a person who had possibly fallen on a bicycle. Officers located Brown on the bridge with a bicycle lying at his feet. Brown had abrasions on his face. Officers attempted to check on the condition of the subject and offer assistance.
Brown became belligerent towards the officer, Banks said. Brown was handcuffed and escorted from the bridge to a police unit at which time he became combative towards the officers and had to be subdued. Brown was jailed.
—Ruben P. Leon, 32, of Degravelle Road in Amelia, was arrested at 10:52 p.m. Tuesday for speeding, no driver’s license and driving while intoxicated.
An officer observed a speeding vehicle traveling on La. 182 near Myrtle Street and detained the vehicle and its driver to investigate. The driver, Leon, produced a Mexican identification card but could not produce a valid driver’s license. Leon, who exhibited signs of impairment, admitted to the consumption of alcoholic beverage and given a field sobriety test in which he failed. Leon was jailed where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 with test results indicating a blood alcohol concentration of .15 grams-percent.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
