Morgan City men face heroin charges

Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Kevin L. Shifflett, 33, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday on warrants for two counts of drug court violation; possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance heroin; possession of drug paraphernalia; failure to pay fines for simple battery, simple criminal damage to property, resisting an officer and criminal trespassing.
—Joseph P. Shifflett, 27, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday for possession of Schedule I heroin; and on a warrant as a fugitive from probation and parole.
Narcotics detectives with the Morgan City Police Department learned of outstanding warrants for Kevin Shifflett and Joseph Shifflett. Detectives located a vehicle occupied by them on La. 182 in Morgan City. At the time of their arrests, both were in possession of heroin and items of drug paraphernalia, Banks said. They remain jailed.
—Dakota A. Daigle, 21, of Pecan Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday on warrants for forgery and felony theft. Dakota Daigle was located at the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants were part of an investigation by Morgan City police detectives into the theft and forgery of personal checks originally reported May 19. Daigle was identified as a suspect in the investigation into the theft totaling $500.
—Cregory L. Johnson, 22, of Brashear Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:01 p.m. Tuesday for possession of Schedule I marijuana second offense, on a warrant for failure to pay a fine and for possession of a legend drug without a prescription.
A patrolling officer located Johnson in the area of Brashear Avenue and Florida Street, placing him under arrest on the outstanding warrant. At the time of his arrest, Johnson was in possession of a prescription medication without a valid prescription and was additionally charged, Banks said.
—Joseph Gilchrist, 21, of Elaine Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:36 a.m. today on warrants for failure to pay a probation fee and probation violation.
Gilchrist was located at the Assumption Parish Detention Center and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.
—Jessica Ross, 25, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 3 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for disturbing the peace.
Ross was located at the city court and arrested.
—Jacob Klenert, 20, of Teche Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for possession of marijuana.
Klenert was located at St. Mary Law Enforcement Center and arrested.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Clarence Woods, 20, of the 500 block of Williams Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:34 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of two counts simple burglary. A deputy transported Woods from the Lafayette Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bail is set.
—Jimmy D. Stinnett Jr., 39, of the 400 block of Henry Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Monday for violation of the parish vicious dog ordinance. A deputy investigating a complaint of a dog bite learned that the animal belonged to Stinnett. The deputy released Stinnett on a summons to appear in court Aug. 22.
—Angela McKenna, 45, of the 100 block of Donna Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:21 a.m. Saturday on a warrant from Mobile County, Ala., sheriff’s office for failure to appear for drug court. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area made contact with McKenna and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. McKenna was jailed with no bail set.
—Ronald Winslow, 54, of the 1000 block of Ciro Street in Siracusa, was arrested at 7:06 p.m. Saturday on a warrant from Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on the charges of trespassing and failure to pay fine. A deputy investigating a complaint of a disturbance on Ciro Street made contact with Winslow and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Winslow was jailed with no bail set.
—Bonnie Dupre, 25, of the 600 block of Arenz Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:29 p.m. Saturday on two warrants for issuing worthless checks. A deputy made contact with Dupre on Mercury Road in Bayou Vista and learned of the active warrants for her arrest. The deputy released Dupre on a summons to appear in court Aug. 22.
—Norma Ramirez, 34, of the 600 block of Clarke Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:57 p.m. Sunday for violation of the parish leash law ordinance. A deputy responded to a complaint of a dog that was loose in the street on Clarke Road. The deputy learned that the animal belonged to Ramirez. The deputy released Ramirez on a summons to appear in court Aug. 22.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Nina Butler, 31, of the 1800 block of N Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:17 p.m. Monday for aggravated battery. Butler was jailed with no bail set yet.
—Betty Jo Butler, 47, of the 800 block of Tall Timbers Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 8:17 p.m. Monday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Butler was released on $250 bail.
—Andrew Glover, 17, of the 100 block of Muggah Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:35 p.m. Saturday for possession/consumption of alcohol by a person under age 21. Glover was jailed on $500 bail.
—Aaron Payton, 56, of the 1400 block of Hickory Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:09 p.m. Sunday for simple battery involving domestic abuse with medical attention and simple criminal damage to property.
Payton was taken to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville with no bail set.
—Tresh Jones, 41, of the 900 block of Tall Timbers Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 8:08 p.m. Monday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Jones was jailed on $250 bail.
—Mekelia Bourgeois, 38, of the 1700 block of Rosario Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:08 p.m. Monday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Jones was jailed on $250 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Brenda Stratton, 35, of Second Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7:05 a.m. today after she turned herself in on a warrant for driving while intoxicated. The warrant stems from vehicle crash on May 11. She remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
