Morgan City man arrested for domestic abuse battery

Morgan City Police Chief Mike Banks reported the following arrests over the weekend:
—Carlven C. Chapman, 37, of Louisiana Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:13 a.m. Friday for domestic abuse battery. Officers were dispatched to Myrtle Street and La. 182 for a disturbance. When officers arrived, a Berwick police officer, who was on the scene, said he had witnessed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner suddenly stop at which time the front seat passenger reached around, striking a female who was in the back seat, Banks stated.
—Alfonso Reyes, 28, of Halsey Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:25 p.m. Saturday for hit and run driving, careless operation and possession of alcoholic beverage in motor vehicle. The arrest was made after a patrolling officer observed a crash near the intersection of Myrtle Street and Railroad Avenue.
—Primos H. Ross Jr., 58, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:13 a.m. Sunday for battery on a police officer, resisting an officer, East Baton Rouge warrants for felony theft and monetary instrument abuse, Morgan City warrants for failure to pay fine, failure to pay probation fee and probation violation. Officers were dispatched to a Railroad Avenue for a disturbance where they encountered Ross.
—Mark A. Eugene, 49, of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:24 p.m. Friday for criminal trespassing. Morgan police received information that Eugene was trespassing on housing authority property near Terrebonne Street. Eugene, who had been previously barred from entering onto federal housing authority property was located inside the area.
—Sandra L. Shackleford, 44, of Wedell Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:59 p.m. Friday for disturbing the peace intoxicated, resisting an officer and an Assumption Parish warrant for failure to appear for driving while intoxicated. Officers were dispatched to a Chester Bowles address regarding a disturbance where they encountered two females involved in an argument.
—Adam W. Roy, 27, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:20 a.m. Saturday for resisting an officer by giving false information, on a St. Mary Sheriff’s warrant for failure to appear for criminal neglect of family, a Patterson Police Department warrant for failure to appear for speeding and no driver’s license on person.
—Joshua J. Naverro, 22, of Wise Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:17 p.m. Saturday for improper display of license plate, possession of alcoholic beverage in motor vehicle and on a St. Mary Sheriff’s warrant for failure to appear for trial (two counts).
—Lisa Jones, 51, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:04 a.m. Sunday for simple battery. Officers responded to a complaint of a female in the area of a La. 182 lounge who was soliciting others in an act of prostitution. In the investigation, it was learned that the female shoved the complainant and fled the area, Banks stated.
Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests over the weekend:
—Tyrone Moore, 41, of the 100 block of Mill Road in Patterson, was arrested at 3:47 a.m. Sunday for hit and run driving, careless operation of a motor vehicle and simple assault. A deputy located a vehicle in a ditch on La. 182 in the Patterson area with its engine still running. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Moore, was located about one mile from the vehicle and was requesting medical attention. Moore was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center. After completing the investigation at the crash site, the deputy went to the hospital to speak with Moore. Medical personnel informed the deputy that upon arrival, Moore refused treatment and left the hospital. The deputy located Moore at his residence and transported him to the parish jail. During booking, Moore threatened to strike a jailer, Hebert stated. He was released on $1,750 bail.
—Paulette Lewis, 45, of the 900 block of Friendship Alley in Amelia, was arrested at 11:24 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. A deputy made contact with Lewis during a traffic stop. She is being held on $5,000 bail.
—Christina L. Hornsby, 35, of the 600 block of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:33 p.m. Friday on a warrant for two counts issuing worthless checks. A deputy working a vehicle crash on La. 182 in Bayou Vista learned that Hornsby, one of the drivers, held an active warrant for her arrest. She was released on a summons to appear in court.
—Brett Legendre, 21, of the 4900 block of La. 182 in Patterson, was arrested at 2:27 a.m. Saturday for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated second offense, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Charles Clements, 46, of Carver, Mass., was arrested at 10:48 a.m. Saturday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Amelia where store personnel said Clements attempted to leave the store without paying for items that he concealed. Clements was released on a summons to appear in court.
—A female, 16, of Morgan City, was arrested at 3:18 p.m. Saturday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista where store personnel said the teenager was seen on video surveillance concealing items before attempting to leave the store without paying. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending court proceedings.
—Neal J. Latiolais, 49, of Cecilia, was arrested at 8:12 p.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace intoxicated after a deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious person on Ricohoc Drive in Ricohoc. Acadian Ambulance was contacted and Latiolais was transported to Franklin Foundation Hospital for treatment. He was released on a summons to appear in court.
—Raymond Migues Jr., 48, of the 400 block of Field Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:56 a.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a residence on Field Road where he learned that Migues pushed a female and twisted her hand, Hebert stated. Migues was located at a business on La. 182 in Bayou Vista. He remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Nicole Benedietto, 30, of the 100 block of Uranus Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:10 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of disobeying a traffic light and speeding. A deputy located Benedietto at her residence. She was released on $374.50 bail.
—A male, 15, of Patterson was arrested at 6 p.m. Sunday for ungovernable juvenile (runaway). A deputy responded to a report of a runaway juvenile who was located in the Patterson area. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending court proceedings.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Natasha Bergeron, 27, of the 1500 block of Cherry Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:25 a.m. Friday on a Morgan City police warrant for failure to appear for paying probation fees. Bergeron was transported to the Morgan City Police Department. No bail is set.
—Demetrius R. Green, 26, of the 100 block of Mill Road in Patterson, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. Monday on St. Mary Sheriff’s warrants for failure to appear on theft of goods under $500, following to close and failure to honor a written promise to appear. He was released after posting $1,334.50 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Dwayne Henson, 25, Bayou Black Drive in Gibson, was arrested at 1:04 p.m. Friday on warrants for Terrebonne Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for theft of goods under $500. He remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
