Concert series to open with Exile
MORGAN CITY — The Community Concert Association of Morgan City concert series kicks off Tuesday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium with a performance by rock and country band Exile.
Other performers in the concert series include Pavlo, Oct. 22; Jane L. Powell, Nov. 19; AudioBody, Feb. 20; and An Evening with Hal Linden, April 7.
All concerts in the series begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Schreier Theater of the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium.
Season tickets to the six-concert series are $45 for adults, $10 for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Individual concert tickets will not be sold.
Package deals are also offered at 4 tickets for $150, 10 tickets for $350, and 20 tickets for $600.
Exile was founded in 1963 in Richmond, Ky., and received attention on the international scene in 1978 with their smash hit “Kiss You All Over.”
Band members are J.P. Pennington, Les Taylor, Sonny LeMaire, Marlon Hargis and Steve Goetzman.
In 2012, Exile appeared on GAC’s “Hit Exchange” with Trace Adkins to re-cut “Kiss You All Over.”
After moving to Nashville in 1983, the band had 13 top-ten singles with 11 going to No. 1 on Billboard’s “Hot County Songs.”
The band has also produced writers who have penned hit songs recorded by other artists, most notably “Take Me Down” by Alabama and “Heart and Soul” by Huey Lewis and the News. Exile has recorded for Warner Bros., RCA, Epic, Arista Nashville and Intersound record labels. Exile continues to tour and record.
